As an Attorney III at Department of Geneal Services (DGS), you will handle intricate legal matters involving state procurement, public contracting, and program compliance. You will work closely with divisions such as the Office of Small Business and Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise Services (OSDS) to provide legal counsel, ensure regulatory compliance, and represent DGS in administrative hearings. Your expertise will shape best practices and drive compliance across the department’s contracting processes.
As an Attorney III, you will be responsible for:
- Provide strategic guidance on complex program abuse cases, including legal strategies, discovery, document drafting, witness preparation, settlements, and representing DGS.
- Advise OSDS and other divisions on regulatory processes, ensuring programmatic compliance with state regulations.
- Research and evaluate sensitive legal issues, particularly in public contracting, offering informed legal opinions.
- Review and approve complex non-IT service contracts for state agencies, ensuring legal compliance.
- Offer expert advice, training, and best practices on contracting and solicitation to improve procurement processes.
