At the Department of Health and Human Services, we are seeking a highly skilled General Dentist to join our team. As a key member of our oral health care team, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive dental care to patients of all ages.
Job Summary
This position is located in a Federally operated hospital or clinic, and as such, selectees must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 before entry on duty. Additionally, they must pass a pre-employment examination and undergo a background investigation.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Evaluate, prevent, diagnose, and treat diseases, injuries, and disorders of the oral cavity and maxillofacial area.
- Remove decay, fill cavities, straighten, extract, and repair teeth.
- Treat gum diseases, perform corrective surgery, make measurements/models for dentures, administer anesthetics, write prescriptions, and perform other requirements of the position.
Requirements
- A Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from a school approved by the American Dental Association (ADA) or the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA).
- A current, full, and unrestricted license to practice dentistry in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
- One or more years of experience performing professional dentistry work for GS-12 level and above assignments.
Working Conditions
This position is covered by a Bargaining Unit. Recruitment or relocation incentives may be authorized. At least a 6 month service agreement will be required.
