The reporting location for the Park Maintenance Supervisor is Mount Diablo State Park, Mitchell Canyon Sector Office at 96 Mitchell Canyon Road, Clayton CA. This position will work under the general direction of the Senior Environmental Scientist.
Diablo Range District is looking for a Park Maintenance Supervisor who will be responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the Mount Diablo State Park Fuel Crew. The reporting location for this position is at Mount Diablo State Park, home to natural geological attractions, campgrounds, trails, and the famous view from the summit. This position will supervise Park Maintenance Assistants, Skilled Laborers, Sr. Maintenance Aides, Maintenance Aides, Inmate Crews, Conservation Crews, or Volunteers.
Employees who work to support State Vehicle Recreation Areas (SVRA) utilize the OHV Trust Fund and are responsible for appropriate use of the fund and to help ensure program transparency, accountability, and compliance (TAC) goals are met.
The work schedule will be Monday through Thursday from 7:00am to 5:30pm.
Training and Development Assignments may be considered.
This position is designated as not telework eligible.
This position may work up to 1500 hours in any calendar year.
This position requires a valid Class C driver’s license. You must answer the questions addressing your driver’s license on your application. Ensure you provide your driver’s license number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions on your application.
The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.
Per California Code of Regulations (CCR) 599.961, this is a sensitive position, and therefore subject to drug and alcohol testing. It should be noted that testing is not mandatory, but is allowed to be conducted only if and when there is a determination of reasonable suspicion as defined in CCR 599.962.

Working Conditions
Typical work activities may involve frequent and prolonged periods of standing and walking. May have moderate exposure to dirt, dust, fumes, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises. May require heavy physical work including lifting, pushing or pulling. Ability to operate and maintain various types of equipment and vehicles in a safe and efficient manner (e.g. ATV, gators, 4WD trucks, chainsaws). This position is considered a sensitive position and as defined by Part 2, Title 3, Chapter 4.5, Section 830.2(d) and Section 830.5 of the Penal Code, a pre-employment drug test is mandatory. The incumbent may also be subject to additional drug tests during the duration of their employment
