The Department of The Navy is seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Manager to lead our Research, Development, Test, and Engineering (RDTE) efforts in Newport. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the operation and transition of science and technology efforts, establishing the future direction of these initiatives, and providing expert advice to senior leaders within the Department of Navy (DON) and the Department of Defense (DOD).

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a seasoned professional with expertise in undersea warfare systems, scientific research, requirements definition, system development, technology development, systems and platform engineering, rapid prototyping, test and evaluation, modeling and simulation, in-service engineering/fleet engagement, and program management. You will have the ability to develop a robust and clear vision for an organization, as well as a strategy for the technical and programmatic implementation of that vision.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies for the technical and programmatic implementation of organizational vision
- Oversee the design, development, and assessment of pertinent technologies
- Provide exceptional senior technical consultation and expert advice to DON and DOD leaders
- Coordinate the integration of advanced concepts to meet evolving mission needs
Requirements:
- Ability to develop a robust and clear vision for an organization
- Ability to manage the design, development, and assessment of pertinent technologies
- Knowledge of the DoD acquisition process
- Knowledge in broad areas of undersea warfare technologies and systems
- Knowledge of Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) priorities to deliver decisive Combat Power
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field from an accredited college or university
- At least 5 years of experience in research and development, preferably in undersea warfare systems
- Advanced degree in engineering or related field is highly desirable
