The role:
We’re looking for someone who excels at time management, attention to detail and problem solving to join our team as the director’s executive assistant! In this position, you will assist and support the agency director by coordinating internal and external communication and acting as a point of contact for other state agencies, boards and commissions, the public, special interest groups and the legislature. A day in the life:
- Assist and support the Director’s Office in the administration of operational and mission objectives, planning and strategies.
- Maintain the director’s schedule, coordinate meetings with internal and external partners, develop agendas and follow up on action items.
- Serve as a liaison on governmental and department issues, policies and rules as needed and assigned.
- Coordinate internal and external communication and act as a point of contact for other state agencies, boards and commissions, the public, special interest groups and the legislature.
- Research issues, prepare reports and present information to executive staff for review and decision.
- Prepare confidential documents for executive staff.
- Review requests for information sent to the Director’s Office and coordinate responses.

Minimum qualifications:
Four years of staff-level experience providing administrative support to management. The experience must include technical or analytical duties in the management of program goals and objectives; performing program or project planning; preparing, monitoring, or controlling budgets; or performing research and providing analytical information and/or recommendations used in management decision making.
Note: A bachelor's degree in business administration, management, public administration or a closely-related field may be substituted for up to two years of the required experience.

Special qualifications:
Driving is an essential function of this position. You must have a valid US driver license and an acceptable driving record. We will conduct pre-employment driving records checks on our final candidate(s). Your license does not have to be issued in Oregon to be considered.
