Job Duties
The Department of Environmental Quality's Office of Financial Managment is seeking a qualified candidate to perform various financial analyses and financial reporting for all areas of the Office of Financial Management (OFM) in order to provide valuable financial information to management. Support the budget development, execution and management function of DEQ, including tracking of appropriations, biennial budget development, General Assembly analyses, and updating agency performance measures. This position will develop, prepare and recommend management reports which will provide accurate, timely, and helpful financial information to management on an ongoing monthly basis. Additionally, this position will perform special financial projects as needed by the Director of OFM.
Minimum Qualifications
Demonstrated skills and experience in effectively analyzing, summarizing & communicating complex and detailed financial information.
Demonstrated financial and management reporting skills and experience.
Demonstrated skills and experience in budget development, budget execution and budget management.
Demonstrated ability to analyze large amounts of data and derive accurate conclusions, devise solutions, and make recommendations.
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects concurrently and complete them on time and accurately.
Knowledge of principles, practices and systems of accounting and budgeting.
Interpersonal skills and experience in working both independently and with a team.
Verbal, written and interpersonal communication ability with all levels of employees.
Demonstrated ability in improving financial processes.
