Job Duties
The Department of Labor and Industry’s Headquarters Office located in Richmond VA is seeking a highly motivated professional to work as a full-time Procurement Officer who provides administrative and resource oversight for the Agency to ensure full compliance with all applicable state and federal rules and regulations, laws, and executive orders. The Procurement Officer holds a major responsibility in the fulfillment of the function and mission of the Agency and the Division. This position will perform procurement and agency general services functions ensuring timely processing, accuracy, and compliance with all Agency, State, and Federal requirements while providing ongoing attention to the development and maintenance of adequate internal controls.

Minimum Qualifications
- Documented experience with interpreting/applying policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Documented experience with automated spreadsheets (Excel), and word processing software.
- Documented experience with Commonwealth of Virginia procurement activities.
- Documented experience with automated procurement systems (eVA).
Additional Considerations
- Certification in the area of business administration/related field and/or equivalent applicable experience/training in procurement.
- Purchasing Professional Certification (VCA, VCO, VCM, etc.).
Special Requirements:
- Possession of a valid driver’s license at the time of hiring or within 30 days of hiring.
- Ability to travel overnight occasionally.
- Ability to perform moderate physical activity that includes, but is not limited to, climbing stairs and ladders, bending, walking up and down inclines, occasionally lifting and carrying loads up to 30 pounds, etc.
- The selected candidate must pass a criminal background investigation and successfully serve a 12-month probationary period effective from the date of employment if beginning employment as an original hire or re-employment.
Special Instructions:
The maximum salary range is $50,000 – $57,915 annually plus the State’s benefits package. Please note that salary is only negotiable within the advertised salary range.
