What are the responsibilities and job description for the Logistics Specialist / Dispatcher position at DES-CLAW?
CLAW Logistics is part of a large and ever-growing family of companies offering customized, full supply chain services in the areas of logistics, transportation, warehousing, distribution, and light manufacturing/assembly.
We are currently recruiting a professional and detail-oriented team member to join our growing logistics operations team at our Warren location on 2nd shift.
Our Operations Team members work in a fast-paced environment that is at the hub of activity in our business.
The ideal candidate will be able to:
- Obtain detailed dispatch specifications from customers
- Perform load planning
- Coordinate load assignments
- Handle administrative paperwork
- Perform accurate and complete data entry
- Exercise a high level of discretion and latitude in completing tasks
- Make on-the-spot decisions and be comfortable in a Just-In-Time delivery environment
- Communicate professionally and effectively with drivers, coworkers, customers, vendors, etc....face-to-face and over the phone
- Monitor and communicate tractor/trailer maintenance needs
- Handle payroll tasks when needed
- Maintain and monitor docks to ensure equipment, materials and integrity of docks are kept in check
Job Requirements:
- Professional and detail-oriented dispatch experience/formal training preferred, will consider familiarity in trucking industry, automotive freight a plus
- Proficient in computers
- Excellent organizational and customer service skills
- Ability to multi-task
- High level of self-motivation with ability to work under minimal supervision
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Able to follow and adhere to procedures and corporate policies
- High school diploma required
