CNC Operator

Key Responsibilities:
Set up CNC machines for production runs by installing tools, fixtures, and workpieces according to specifications outlined in blueprints or technical drawings.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and job orders to determine machine setups, tooling requirements, and workpiece specifications.
Operate CNC machines, including lathes, mills, grinders, or routers, to manufacture tools and components with high precision and quality.
Monitor machine operations and performance during production, making adjustments as necessary to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges) to ensure compliance with specifications and tolerances.
Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines, including cleaning, lubrication, and changing cutting tools to ensure optimal performance.
Troubleshoot machine malfunctions and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules.
Maintain accurate records of production data, including quantities produced, machine settings, and inspection results.
Collaborate with quality control and production teams to address any quality issues and implement improvements to manufacturing processes.
Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to company policies and industry regulations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or an associate degree in CNC machining or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as a CNC machine operator, preferably in a tool manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of CNC programming, machine setup, and operation.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and job specifications accurately.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments and quality assurance techniques. * Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality work within specified tolerances.
- Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to machine operation. * Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods while operating CNC machines.
- Capability to lift and move materials and components weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for operating machinery and measuring tools.
Work Environment:
- Work is performed in a manufacturing facility or machine shop, which may involve exposure to noise, dust, and moving machinery.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE), such as safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection, is required.
