PAYROLL/HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST
OVERVIEW:
DeSales University, in Center Valley, PA, is a private, coeducational, four-year liberal arts Salesian, Catholic university, under the leadership of the Oblates of Saint Francis de Sales. POSITION SUMMARY:
The Payroll and HR Specialist processes payroll for all students, staff, and faculty—approximately 1,200 employees in total – on a bi-weekly basis. This individual will maintain the Paycor payroll/HRIS system, managing all employee and student updates, including new hires, status changes, and terminations. Additionally, they will collaborate with other members of the HR team to ensure accurate payroll administration for employees on various leaves of absence, including short-term disability (STD), long-term disability (LTD), worker’s compensation, and FMLA. They will also address payroll inquiries, including researching and resolving any discrepancies. This role provides audit support for various audits throughout the year by providing reports and ensuring payroll and HR information is accurate and is provided to auditors in a timely and professional manner. This role is also responsible for various HR-related duties, including onboarding all part-time, casual, and student employees, including I9 verification and compliance, and other HR duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with payroll administration is required. Experience with Paycor is strongly preferred
- Experience in human resources required
- Experience in higher education preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
- Familiarity with labor laws, tax regulations, and HR best practices
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail is a must
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills required
- Dedicated to the mission of a small, Catholic, liberal arts institution
