SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Business Services & Facilities, the Facilities Manager is responsible for repairs and maintenance at all Desert Arc’s facilities. The Manager is responsible for providing project oversight and direction. This position will coordinate outside contractors or vendors for various services. The Manager is responsible for routine and extensive range of work in the repair and general maintenance of facilities, buildings, and equipment and may participate in various repair projects that require evening and/or weekend hours.

REQUIREMENTS:

· High School Diploma or equivalent

· Valid California Driver License

· Clean DMV record

· Clear & maintain clean criminal record

· First Aid and CPR Certification (Training may be provided by Desert Arc)

· 5 years of experience in maintenance or engineering

· 2-3 years of construction project management

· Ability to efficiently use various power and hand tools

· Ability to operate a forklift

· Computer knowledge – Microsoft Office Suite

· Forward thinker – ability to research industry related products and procedures

· Communicate efficiently and fluently in both written and oral form

· Must be available to work overtime, weekends and in emergency situations

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

· Assure safety standards are used at all times to comply with all company, local, city, state and federal guidelines

· Supervise and manage the performance of Facilities Tech II and III, ensuring efficient operations and adherence to company standards

· Responsible for the completion of maintenance service requests and perform general maintenance work of facilities, grounds, and equipment at various sites

· Manage the monthly Work Order spreadsheet, tracking the status of work orders and facilities requests

· Work within a team to schedule and complete the “Preventative Maintenance Program” i.e., HVAC, door inspection, etc.

· Coordinate special projects as directed by the Assistant Director of Business Services & Facilities

· Assist in monitoring all work being performed by outside contractors

· Solicits bids and quotes from vendors related to various projects for all Desert Arc facilities

· Monitor and maintain all building systems

· Responsible for alerting the Manager of Business Services & Facilities of any unusual occurrence and/or damage that have taken place or may occur

· Ensure compliance of all work-related activities in a fair, ethical, and consistent manner

· Participate in preparing the capital and department budget

· Moving and assisting in assembly and transportation of furniture and equipment

· Unlock, lock and set building alarms as needed

· Respond to alarm calls after and during regular work hours as needed

· Purchase supplies, equipment, and necessary materials to complete projects

· Special projects and other responsibilities as may be determined

· Ensures all products used are safe and appropriate to complete cleaning needs as necessary

· Ensures all SDS sheets are on record and copies are given to the Manager of Business Services & Facilities

· Responsible for 24-hour emergency maintenance service as needed

· Carry a cell phone as required for on-call maintenance

· Perform related duties, responsibilities and special projects as required

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position requires working independently and as part of a team.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

a. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

b. The employee must have the ability to lift at least 50 pounds, push/pull 100 pounds, run & climb ladders/stairs. The employee must be able to perform CPR and administer First-Aid. The position requires sitting and/or standing for long periods of time. The position requires ability to operate an automobile, and general maintenance equipment.

Note duties are subject to change due to agency growth or restructure. Daily

operations are also subject to change based on outcome measurements of systems incorporated to program operations

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $68,640.00 per year
