Adorable ILS Services is dedicated to providing independent living skills services to consumers that are challenged in the comfort of their homes and in the community , supporting and assisting in fostering independent living skills one day at a time .
Position - Independent Living Skills
Job Summary- The independent living skills trainer is a strong voice and advocate for an individual that is challenged cognitively, physically , mentally and or other areas on the spectrum of disability. The independent living skills trainer is a self starter , energetic, innovative person who is able to go above and beyond In providing independent living skills that includes , Home structure , training and supporting them in paying bills, budgeting and expenditure, making doctors appointments and facilitating those appointments, linking them up with the community resources for example, Social Security, Medical , Calworks , Calfresh , laundry , Grocery , teaching personal hygiene and home structure etc , assist in securing housing assistance, assist with landlords issues as the need maybe . Work with the consumer's individual goals etc. Support consumer with job search and help model
interview ethics and physical presentation.
Essential Job Functions
1- Regular attendance and punctuality required
2- Ability to work with diverse consumers on a cross disability basis and understand and understand their independent living needs to find resources in the community for referrals
3- Work with other staffs to create a network consisting of necessary resources to support consumers in their pursuit of independent living.
4-Maintain an up to date knowledge of disability rights , regulations and policies and able to advocate
5- Maintain effective and positive working relationships with all disability partners and staff
6- Able to write progress report according to consumers goals Bi- quaterly
7- Trainer must possess valid California license and auto insurance
8- Ongoing job training every three months and or CEU's
Job Qualifications
Education - Associate degree/High school diploma
Experience
One year working with an individual with disability
Ability to interact with a consumer as a peer
Understand diversity , inclusion and respect .
Skills knowledge and Abilities
Must be a self starter and the ability to organize task and manage time effectively.
Must have excellent interactive skills and the ability to motivate others.
Require written and communication skills.
Able to drive to consumers resident and his / her appointments
Female trainer preferred
