Job Summary
The Church Administrator is responsible for facilitating processes and people so that the church's business affairs run smoothly and efficiently, helping the church achieve its missional objectives. The position's primary functions include office operations, supervision of office staff, and administrative leadership. Ideally, the Church Administrator has worked in a church or non-profit office.

The Church Administrator must be organized, a strategic thinker, and a problem solver. In addition, they must have excellent interpersonal skills. The Church Administrator displays high-capacity project management and is comfortable working with a team. Strong written/oral communication skills are required. An ideal candidate is highly self-motivated and able to prioritize and execute tasks effectively. Knowledge of the Google Suite platform (docs, sheets, forms, surveys, etc…), database management, and the MS Office suite is required. The Church Administator must demonstrate team-building skills, be skilled at active listening, and be able to create a trusting and supportive work and ministry environment.
Description of Work
Operations of Processes
- Manage vendor contracts, renter contracts, facility contracts, rental needs, and community groups with the Office Manager and Director of Facilities.
- Seeks out new rental opportunities for church revenue.
- Maintains insurance policies associated with the church and maintains an inventory of all church property (e.g. equipment, technology, etc…).
- Manages seasonal and yearly events with church staff and volunteers to facilitate hospitality, fellowship, and congregational gatherings.
- Coordinate payroll with the Bookkeeper.
Supervision
- Leads church office staff for the healthy and effective functioning of the church office
Communication
- Effectively communicate with congregants and staff with respect and maintain strict confidentiality.
- Oversees church mailings, church-wide emails, and church communication with Communication Coordinator and Office Manager.
Administration and Organization
- Supervises human resources for hiring, onboarding, benefits, departures, and background checks.
- Keep the church employee handbook updated with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Works with church human resource vendors to provide benefits and resources to employees.
- Coordinates projects with staff and volunteers to align church resources.
- Works with the Senior Minister to review and monitor the church budget.
Technology
- Obtains, outsources, or utilizes technology skills of the congregation and outside vendors to keep computers, technical systems, and other technology for repair or maintenance.
- Oversees and works with the Office Manager to maintain and repair all office equipment.
- Update computer skills as new equipment or software are acquired and new applications arise.
Compensation - $25-$28 an hour based on experience and education
