Overview
JOB DESCRIPTION
Partner with Branch Managers in the region to optimize inventory strategies and sense forward-looking demand to support incremental and new business (SIOP reviews). Utilize ordering control parameters to ensure service level and inventory turn goals. Place transfer orders and purchase orders based upon prescribed replenishment parameters. Utilize reports to monitor all purchase orders created, follow up on open purchase order and transfer order lines, and expedite material when necessary. Lead the acquisition process for assigned Branches. Work with Distribution Center planners and Merchandising team to find alternate sourcing solutions when products are critically low or stocked out. Support Min-Max and update systems to reflect accurate replenishment parameters to ensure appropriate replenishment cycles.
More specifically, this position will be responsible for activities including but not limited to the following:
Years of experience:2 years directly related experience
Exceptional communication, interpretation, and organizational skills
Working grasp of best practices in inventory management including replenishment methods and inventory turn management
General knowledge sufficient to perform the major job duties and tasks. Includes proficiency in word processing, and spreadsheets to prepare business reports and correspondence with speed and accuracy. Also includes keyboarding and ten-key sufficient to enter data and prepare reports and documents quickly and accurately. Includes understanding all applicable ERP screens and tools sufficient to maintain the appropriate quantity of stocking inventory to maximize ROI, and customer service
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Proven ability to build consensus and work effectively across the distribution team

More specifically, this position will be responsible for activities including but not limited to the following:
- Manage supply and inventory levels at DCs and branches
- Achieve adequate inventory levels; to fulfill service level and days of inventory on hand goals
- Utilize ERP systems and reports to analyze all products assigned that have been recommended to replenish
- Place transfer orders and purchase orders based upon prescribed buying targets, to ensure cost effective purchasing habits
- Corresponds with distribution centers and/or vendors to obtain the most up to date shipping information and maintains expected material arrival dates in ERP system
- Escalates any items where due date is out of the ordinary or item is at risk of stock out to IM Regional Planner
- Ensure best buy is made to optimize discount structures against cost to carry
- Complete and update all applicable fields and update ERP Systems
- Partner and review Min-Max as needed and update ERP Systems appropriately
- Communicate stock / non-stock decisions with branch to ensure alignment
- Gather demand insights on incremental and new business deals
- Identify critical past due items
- Work with IM Purchasing Planning Team and Merchandising Team to expedite and / or find alternate sourcing solutions
- Follow up on all past due material and ensure most accurate expected date is updated in ERP system
- Order Axles for assigned branches on designated days
- Set up Axles in ERP System
- Follow up on all Axle Purchase orders
- Actively communicate any delays with branch teams
- Proactively participate in forums: branch distribution meetings
- Branch distribution meetings and S&OP reviews
- Disseminate any updates and information regarding inventory
- Seek to understand branch needs in order to best serve customers
