Responsibilities
- Oversee a team of employees.
- Supervise that all company policies and procedures are followed, take corrective or disciplinary action when needed.
- Ensure compliance regarding OSHA safety, FTZ/Bonded operations and Dangerous goods material handling.
- Ensures that there is proper material handling and safeguard of goods through the warehouse.
- Monitors the timely processing of the inbound and outbound merchandise that arrives, and it is shipped from the warehouse.
- Monitor and supervise receiving, picking and packing accuracy as well as transaction execution times.
- Maintains inventory control of his/her area, monitors the assignment and resolution of cycle counts and inventory on hand research and investigations, participates in the planning and execution of the end of year wall to wall inventory.
- Supervise proper management of space, initiate and execute relocations to optimize the use of space.
- Controls and supervise products with best before dates, initiate alerts before items expire.
- Monitors the integrity of inbound shipments that arrive at the warehouse, oversees the process of unloading and verification of all shipments and make sure that there are proper exception handling records for anything that is found outside of the standards of packaging and weight verifications, examples: seal verification, weight verification, visual inspection, picture recording and notes to the truck B/L
- Provides training and cross-training to staff under his/her supervision
- Works closely with the warehouse office, other supervisors and management.
- Maintain logs and reports that are related to different aspects of the operation.
- Knowledge of R/F scanners and packing stations and other warehouses systems and with computers/software in general.
- Maintain proper security for the warehouse, check and supervise doors, gates, locks, and alarms when opening and closing the operations.
- Provide support to the warehouse manager with the maintenance and repairs of infrastructure and equipment for the warehouse.
- Provide support to other areas of the warehouse outside of his/her direct supervision.
- Monitor management of the warehouse supplies, packing materials, safety gear, etc. initiate requests to replenish before materials are out of stock.
- Handle confidential information and company assets and resources with discretion and care.
Requirements
- Proven experience as warehouse supervisor or similar role.
- Proven track record of ethical conduct and personal integrity in previous roles
- Solid knowledge of compliance in material of safety.
- Experience with handling different warehouse equipment, reach truck, forklift, order picker, etc.
- Experience managing staff and providing training.
- Proficient in MS Office and warehouse modules.
- Fluent with mathematical skills for adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing and percentage calculations
- An analytical mind with a strategic ability.
- Excellent communication and people skills
- University or College education
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to work outside of normal working hours.
- Experience with warehouse FTZ/Bonded and CTPAT operations.
- Demonstrate attention to detail and accountability in all tasks
