Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Finance to join our team at Diagnostic Radiology & Imaging, LLC. This leadership role is pivotal in managing our financial operations and strategic planning efforts, ensuring that we continue to provide exceptional service while maintaining financial health. The purpose of the Director of Finance is to: establish financial policies, procedures, and controls; provide monthly financial reports and annual budgets; and to provide financial insight and analytical data.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Provide oversight/management of all day-to-day financial and accounting operations
· Processing Payroll – bi-weekly, w2’s
· Accounts receivable – nonclinical billing and collections, sales tax
· Fixed Asset Maintenance
· Accounts Payable – processing, 1099’s
· Participate in decisions as a member of the management team
· Assist in formulating the company's future direction and supporting tactical initiatives
· Oversee the annual audit and/or tax returns
· Enhance and/or develop, implement, and enforce finance policies and procedures by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the corporation
· Be an advisor from the financial perspective on any contracts into which the corporation may enter
· Oversee the issuance of financial information, including monthly reports, financial statements, forecasts, and estimates both internally and externally
· Enhance and/or develop, and implement a system to analyze and track the profitability of new and existing procedures
· Manage the budgeting processes
· Maintain the relationship with the corporate auditors and tax advisors
· Oversee the purchase and redemption of stock and membership interests
· Provide financial analysis and ad hoc reports pertinent to new business opportunities
· Maintain relationship with corporate bank-annual renewals, data requests
· Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization, i.e., evaluation of potential alliances, acquisitions, and/or merger
· Responsible for arranging debt financing & monitoring cash balances and cash forecasts
· Provide regulatory compliance for 5500 filings, M1, personal property tax returns, and form 990 as well as the usual compliance requirements for the finance function
· Responsible for arranging insurance coverage (except malpractice & health trust stop-loss insurance)
· Responsible for dealing with the third-party administrators for retirement funds in conjunction with HR – 5500, audit, employer funding, payroll deductions
· Health trust – bank account, 5500, processing payments, audit
· Mileage and Expense reimbursement
· Escheats
· Issuing K1s
· 401 Distributions and Profit Sharing
· H.S.A. Employer funding
Additional duties include but may not be limited to:
· Recruit, develop, train, and evaluate the finance staff that supports the financial operations above up to and including staff working in AP, Payroll, Supply Management, and Data Analytics.
· Maintain regulatory compliance by staying abreast of current trends and regulations in the financial and healthcare industries.
· Promote a culture that reflects the organization’s values, encourages good performance, and enhances productivity.
· Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience: Seven years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is required; an MBA or CPA is preferred.
· Proven experience in a finance leadership role within the healthcare industry is highly desirable.
· Strong knowledge of financial analysis, accounting principles, and cost control practices.
· Excellent strategic planning skills with a focus on long-term growth.
· Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage complex financial operations.
· Proficient in financial software and reporting tools.
Communication Skills: Successfully accomplish the essential duties of this job, one must be able to read, analyze, and interpret information such as reports, charts, and graphs and must be able to present information persuasively and effectively to internal and external stakeholders. He/she must also effectively respond to inquiries from, and work collaboratively with, all functions and levels within the organization.
Reasoning Ability: Most of the work performed in this role requires one to be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions, along with interpreting an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and dealing with several abstract and concrete variables.
Responsibilities for Errors: Failure to protect assets and monitor the financial condition of the organization could result in unfavorable fiscal performance compared to established financial objectives. Loss of revenue could be a substantial consequence, depending on the scope of a particular circumstance.
Routine Contact with Others: This position serves as a member of the Finance Department, Finance Committees, and DRI Management and Executive Team. Deal with: Physician owners, DRI Joint Venture hospital partner, and DRI vendors.
Confidential Data: This position has high-level access to confidential data about patients, business associates, physicians, payroll, and strategic planning. Failure to safeguard the aforementioned could negatively impact the company significantly, as the company could be liable for HIPAA violations and other related infringements.
Special Equipment: Job duties require the use of a computer, copier/fax/scanner, and phone.
Physical Demands: The flow of work and character of duties involve remaining in a seated stationary position and performing keyboard operations constantly; communicating with internal and external stakeholders frequently; and moving/traversing about the office or remaining in an upright stationary position on an occasional basis. Additionally, the person in this role may seldom climb stairs or position oneself as necessary to access resources pertinent to one’s desk/computer/files. Visual attention is necessary because frequent near acuity for computer usage is required and far acuity is occasionally needed to assist with following PowerPoint presentations. Intermittently, the ability to distinguish color is warranted. The person in this role needs to be able to detect smells for safety-related purposes on occasion. The position also requires an individual to be able to transport a laptop computer, equipment and files weighing approximately 10-15 lbs.
Working Conditions: Work to be conducted in the office as deemed necessary by your direct supervisor. Moderate noise associated with a typical work environment (computers, printers, and light traffic) is characteristic of this job.
