Job Summary:
The Director of Operations is a direct report to the VP of Operations. They will be responsible for supervision of all extracting, packaging, and manufacturing activities to assure that Dialed In Gummies delivers safe, high quality products while maintaining the most efficient product cost structure. The Director of Operations is accountable for meeting production demand that supports the business top line while improving efficiency to bottom line growth. This position is responsible for all hour by hour operations, including purchasing, production planning, manufacturing and shipping of quality products. Ensures continuous quality and process improvements to attain operational goals, tactics, and priorities that drive business results with a focus on quality.
Essential Duties and Tasks:
- Is responsible for performance in areas including Safety, People, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Inventory
- Maintains a strong presence in the lab to effectively coach and support operations teams
- Ensure manufacturing environments are brand appropriate (i.e. positive, reassuring, energetic, encouraging, educational and welcoming)
- Ensure operational priorities, processes and procedures are communicated and understood
- Compliance controls with all federal/state regulations
- Ability to create, teach, update, and improve SOP’s (standing operating procedures)
- Supervisor to all production associates
- Review & manage any additional packaging areas when needed
- Schedules and manages facility maintenance
- Responsible for ensuring daily quality and quantity of finished product
- Responsible for any daily manufacturing that occurs within the facility (kitchen, packaging, etc.) and food safety/GMP training necessary. Certification preferred.
- Utilize FIFO (First In, First Out) for all available inventory to minimize expiration and destruction of valued goods
- Utilize all software and tracking systems to manage production and inventory schedule
- Keep an accurate inventory of all non cannabis materials and supplies with purchasing to ensure appropriate par levels are maintained
- Execute performance reviews with staff in a timely manner
- Partner with Human Resources to effectively manage all of the production department workforce.
- Maintain edibles inventory levels based on sales forecast and production schedules.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- A high-touch, credible, visible leader who could establish instant credibility and inspire the team
- Highly experienced in data driven decision making
- Demonstrated track record in team building and driving operations efficiencies
- 5 years experience in manufacturing or logistics
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred
- Outstanding people skills, organizational skills and a passionate leadership style
- A sense of urgency, high energy, and hands-on approach
- Computer and software fluent (Google Workspace, Leaf-Link, METRC)
- Over 21 years of age with the ability to obtain an MED badge
- Ability to pass a background check
- Valid Driver's License
- Complete discretion and confidentiality are always required in this position
- 2 years working in cannabis or other manufacturing
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Recruit, interview, hire, and train new staff
- Create SOPs for the kitchen/hash/packaging/distribution departments and oversee the daily workflow at the Lab
- Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations for all lab employee’s
