Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Construction Superintendent to oversee the installation of HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems on commercial and industrial construction projects. The ideal candidate will ensure project safety, quality, and schedule compliance while leading field teams and coordinating with project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- On-Site Leadership:
- Direct and supervise all field operations for mechanical systems, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
- Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and vendors to maintain schedules and meet project milestones.
- Conduct daily on-site meetings with crews to review progress, address challenges, and align on project goals.
- Project Execution:
- Ensure mechanical systems are installed per design specifications, plans, and industry standards.
- Monitor progress and adjust workflows to maintain project schedules and budgets.
- Proactively identify and resolve on-site issues to minimize delays and disruptions.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Enforce OSHA standards and company safety policies, conducting regular safety meetings and inspections.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes and regulations.
- Quality Assurance:
- Conduct inspections of work to ensure adherence to quality standards and project specifications.
- Address deficiencies promptly and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, including progress reports, timesheets, and change orders.
- Provide regular updates to project managers on job site performance, challenges, and achievements.
- Team Development:
- Supervise and mentor field crews, fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Assist in evaluating and selecting subcontractors and vendors.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in mechanical construction, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
- Proven expertise in HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems for commercial and industrial projects.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of mechanical drawings, specifications, and construction methods.
- Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam) is a plus.
- Skills:
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to challenges.
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
- Certifications:
- OSHA 30 Certification required.
- First Aid/CPR Certification preferred.
- Additional certifications in mechanical systems or construction management are a plus.
