We have experience in private and public funding, grant seeking and making, and serving as fiscal sponsors through intermediary organizations. This diverse expertise equips us to deeply understand how grantmakers award funds and positions us to guide nonprofits effectively through the grant seeking process.

The Vice President of Grant Services will lead and expand DickersonBakker’s Grant Services Division, drive business development, oversee product development and strategy, and ensure high-quality service delivery. This is a key leadership role that reports to senior management, and will be responsible for developing new revenue streams, leading a growing team, and implementing a scalable service delivery model.

The VP of Grant Services will manage a current team of three professionals and oversee the team’s expansion, which will include recruiting and hiring multiple additional grant writers and strategists.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Business Growth
  • Develop and execute a business growth strategy aligned with the company’s overall goals.
  • Expand the Grant Services Division, introducing innovative service models.
  • Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities, cultivating strong client relationships.
  • Represent the organization at industry conferences and networking events.

Operational Oversight & Team Leadership
  • Lead a team of grant strategists, writers, and project managers to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Manage department structure and oversee strategy, operations, and process optimization.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence within the team.


Client Engagement & Service Delivery
  • Oversee grant management, grant writing, and strategic counseling services.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including nonprofit leaders and foundation partners.
  • Ensure all grant deliverables meet high standards of professionalism, accuracy, and impact.
  • Utilize data and CRM tools (HubSpot) to track sales, client acquisition, and forecasting activities.

Financial & Performance Management
  • Develop and manage the division’s annual operating budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility.
  • Monitor performance metrics, aligning efforts with organizational growth targets.
  • Regularly assess client satisfaction and make improvements based on feedback.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Experience & Expertise
  • 7-10 years of leadership experience in nonprofit grant services, fundraising, or a related field.
  • Strong business development and sales acumen (70% focus on growth).
  • Extensive knowledge and experience working with foundations and grant processes from the grant-seeking perspective of a nonprofit organization; either as a grant program manager or as an executive leader with oversight of these functions.
  • Proven track record of success in grant-seeking.
  • Experience with CRM platforms (HubSpot preferred) for tracking and forecasting sales.
