About the role
Oversee the maintenance of all operating equipment, including, but not limited to, establishing preventative schedules, match and evaluate external vendors for repair and maintenance activities, and ensure documentation is complete.
Design, review, and integrate major systems for remodels, new stores, small additions, and any changes due to age-related issues; proactively identify and recommend opportunities for process improvements.
Oversee and influence planning and negotiation for purchases of refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing and HVAC equipment.
Manage partnerships with vendors that cover repairs in all categories, including, but not limited to, equipment, building interior, refrigeration, plumbing, HVAC, and roof; monitor refrigeration usage and repairs to maintain compliance with EPA by all vendors.
Negotiate and administer outside maintenance and repair contracts and services; ensure accuracy of invoices and find ways to drive down costs.
Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to assign work orders, manage preventive and predictive maintenance.
Partner with store operations and department directors to identify and/or address maintenance-related issues to create the best possible solution.
Identify and implement effective performance indicators and analytics tools to measure, drive, and communicate equipment utilization.
Ensure maximum use of energy management systems and utilize energy incentive programs to reduce expenses.
Lead, coach, and develop a small, but mighty, team of technicians.
Foster a work environment that embodies the core values of Dierbergs, champion and develop an inclusive team environment
Respond promptly to emergency situations including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
About you
Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes
Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with compliance to all local, state, and federal regulatory guidelines
Equipment Maintenance Management software experience is strongly desired
Proven ability to manage complex projects and priorities to ensure project goals are met.
Strong problem solving, decision making, and organizational skills.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to drive results.
Skilled leader who is able to meet deadlines and complete tasks across a wide spectrum of team relations, safety, sanitation, and expense control
Must be a team player and can work with all levels of users and management.
Thorough understanding of refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC equipment
Knowledgeable and able to innovate new and emerging technologies into manageable practical applications.
Able to stand, sit, bend, reach, and/or lift up to 50 lbs.
Experience
Bachelors degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical field is required.
Minimum of seven years of engineering or maintenance management is preferred.
Must have strong project management skills and demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
