General Job Summary:
Large privately owned gastroenterology practice is seeking a Referral Intake Specialist. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a physician practice and/or hospital setting. Responsible for the coordination of incoming referrals from Primary Care physicians and other specialists, obtaining accurate documentation of patient information, scheduling of consults and procedures, and assisting in other areas of the front office.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
The Referral Coordinator must be able to:
- Possesses the ability to deal with patients, visitors, co-workers, and physicians with courtesy and respect
- Displays a professional outgoing warm and helpful attitude
- Possesses compassion for dealing with people who are ill and need help
- Plan, prioritize, and complete multiple tasks as delegated by the front office supervisor
- Work under pressure; assess, respond, and communicate issues in a timely manner
- Communicate clearly with patients, physicians, and coworkers through the telephone, email, and EMR.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2-3 years prior experience in a physician practice and/or hospital setting
