Cutter Operator - Printing Industry

The Cutting Operator is responsible for the set-up, adjustment and operation of the die cutter machine. The Cutter Operator will follow the specification from the gang sheet to determine what kind of die pattern will be set up according to the gang sheet. While running die cutting machine, the Cutter Operator will ensure that each die cut pattern meets the gang sheet specifications in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

• Use Polar cutters to cut printed gangs down to individual items
• Ability to cut cardstock, text weight, label, plastic and magnet stock
• Must be familiar with computers to import cutting programs into cutter, locate jobs in IMS system, update status of job when complete
• Change cutting stick, change blades, and troubleshoot machine as necessary
• Attention to detail is a must!
• Report any and all workplace hazards to management immediately.
• Ensure all equipment, tools, and work station are in good working order and is free of any safety hazards.
• Must be available for any required overtime based on business needs.
• Must be proactive with completing other duties as assigned.

SHIFT

2nd shift avaiable - M-Th 1:30pm – 10:00pm, Fri 2:00pm-10:30pm

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• At least 1 year experience using production machinery (Heidelberg preferred).
• At least 6 months packing experience.
• Good problem solving skills.
• Good organizational skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Good communication skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with management and team members.
• Ability to safely use hand/power tools.
• Ability to multi task with changing priorities.
• Ability to recognize safety issues & corrective action.

Working Conditions

The Cutter Operator position will work in a warehouse/manufacturing environment with loud noises from machines and varying temperatures depending on weather.

Physical Requirements

The Cutter Operator position will have the following physical requirements:

· Standing/Walking (at least 75% of shift)

· Lifting up to 50 lb.

· Bending/twisting (at least 50% of shift)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
