Position Summary: Fulltime faculty member in Mass Communication with strong broadcast background to start in fall 2022
Responsibilities/Accountability:

- Teach nine hours of mass communication courses each semester plus twenty-five percent (25%) release time to advise WDUB online radio each semester; prepare assessments; conduct curriculum review and implementation; advise students; engage in research and publication; participate in program development; and participate in service activities at all levels of the University. This is a nine-month non-tenure-track position.
QUALIFICATIONS: Required
- We seek a distinguished broadcast media practitioner with a minimum of undergraduate degree and extensive broadcast experience and recognition/award for consideration for the professional-in-residence position. An earned doctorate degree (or ABD) in mass communication from an accredited institution will be considered for a tenure-track position as assistant or associate professor.
- Seven (7) years’ minimum professional experience in broadcast journalism with documented advancement in the field.
- Portfolio of professional broadcast work required.
- A commitment to teaching excellence and a demonstrated quality teaching ability.
- Ability to teach broadcast news and radio courses.
PREFERRED:
- Demonstrated willingness to interact effectively with alumni, faculty, staff, and students.
Work Conditions
May require long hours sitting in front of a computer, walking across campus, and/or bending, stooping and lifting up to 20lbs.
