Dinsmore is seeking a transaction and litigation paralegal at its Lexington, KY location. The ideal candidate should have at least three years of experience in the areas of commercial and consumer loans and loan transactions, real estate, general corporate transactional work, bankruptcy or general litigation. Foreclosure, banking and bankruptcy experience are a plus. Candidates need experience in and around loan documents and real estate, and knowledge, experience and willingness to assist with loan transactions, foreclosures and bankruptcies is expected.
Responsibilities
Produce high-quality billable work product
Calculate and calendar court deadlines
Assist with bankruptcy and foreclosure pleadings, discovery and hearing preparation
Correspond with clients, creditors and other interested parties regarding case issues
Assist in preparation of quarterly fee applications
Assist with preparation of notices of sale, orders of default and mortgage claims
Manage and process liens related to legal or financial matters
Analyze corporate documents to determine jurisdictions in which to conduct searches for UCC-1 financing statements; federal and state tax liens; furniture, fixtures and judgment liens; bankruptcy filings; and federal, state and county litigation filings
Recording real estate lien documents and searching real property records to determine property ownership, easements, and liens
Reviewing loan transaction documents to determine collateral description for UCC-1 financing statements; preparing, filing, amending, and terminating UCC liens
Requirements
Expertise in assisting attorneys through matters involving loans and loan documents including all phases of foreclosures, bankruptcy and litigation
Possess the ability to prioritize and manage a diverse and high volume case load
Candidates should also possess superior verbal and written communication skills
Attention to detail and accuracy, and confidentiality
Understanding of federal, state and local rules of civil procedure
Must have the ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
College degree, ABA-approved paralegal certificate, or experience equivalent
3 years of paralegal experience
