Position Summary: The Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis for the Diocese of Charleston is responsible for the consolidation of financial operations, budgeting, and strategic and capital planning for parishes, schools, and other church entities. The Manager of FP&A plays acritical role in ensuring the financial health, sustainability, and operational vitality of all organizations within the Diocese of Charleston. The Manager of FP&A will also assist the Bishop and the CFO in planning for the continued growth of the Catholic Church in South Carolina.
Classification: Exempt Reports To: Chief Financial Officer
Essential Job Functions:
- Conduct financial analysis and modeling to forecast revenues, expenses, and cash flows for parishes, schools, and capital projects.
- Analyze the trends of key performance indicators (KPIs) and summarize for reporting and proposed action for parishes, schools, and capital projects.
- Monitor KPIs and financial statements and identify the cause of any unexpected variances within parishes, schools, and capital projects.
- Present the quarterly financial reports of the consolidated organizations by type to the Chief Financial Officer.
- Develop financial models and analyze them to support strategic long-term initiatives, including capital planning.
- Support the management team and Department Leaders with data-driven analysis.
- Calculate the annual assessments to parishes and set annual spending limits for Pastors.
- Assist with the administration of the Diocesan wide insurance programs, including annual renewals and allocations.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, policies, and regulations at al parishes, schools, and other related entities, and recommend improvements and best practices for a revised manual.
- Automate and improve standard operating procedures.
Requirements:
- Practicing Catholic in good standing.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
