The Associate Superintendent of Catholic Schools plays a vital role in fostering a strong Catholic identity within diocesan schools, supporting staff development, overseeing curriculum planning, and ensuring the overall success of Catholic schools within the diocese. This individual works closely with school principals, pastors, and the Superintendent to provide leadership, guidance, and consultation on administrative, curricular, and instructional matters.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Professional Development:
- Identify and coordinate professional development opportunities to support teachers seeking certification.
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance instructional effectiveness for teachers on temporary certification.
- Ensure alignment of professional development initiatives with accreditation and certification requirements.
- Deliver professional development regarding certification requirements
2. Certification Management:
- Oversee the certification process for all educators within the Diocese of Orlando, ensuring compliance with state and accreditation requirements.
- Track certifications and renewal deadlines, providing support to staff in meeting necessary requirements.
- Work closely with school leadership and HR to maintain accurate certification records.
3. Accreditation & Compliance:
- Collaborate with accreditation agencies and participate in accreditation visits to ensure district and school compliance.
- Conduct file audits to verify that teacher credentials, certifications, and professional development records are up to date.
- Ensure compliance for schools participating in National School Lunch Program (NSLP).
- Catholic Identity Development:
- Assist schools in developing and strengthening their Catholic identity through various programs, activities, and strategic planning.
- Provide ongoing support to school leaders in integrating Catholic values into school culture and curriculum.
- Curriculum and Instruction:
- Oversee and monitor curriculum development and implementation within schools, ensuring academic rigor and alignment with Catholic values.
- Assist principals in curriculum planning, evaluation, and improvement efforts.
- Provide specialized consultation in matters of serious administrative, curricular, or instructional concerns.
- Leadership Support and Mentoring:
- Provide guidance and support to principals in their work with students, staff, parents, board members, and pastors.
- Mentor new principals and facilitate a formal leadership development program for aspiring Catholic school administrators.
- Facilitate and plan the Principal Institute for the Province of Florida, welcoming and orienting new administrators to diocesan policies and expectations.
- School Visits and Goal Monitoring:
- Conduct regular school visits according to the Office of Catholic Schools schedule, providing feedback and communicating observations to the Superintendent.
- Assist principals in setting and achieving school goals, monitoring their progress, and conducting evaluations as necessary.
- Personnel and Recruitment:
- Assist the Superintendent and Office of Catholic Schools in personnel matters, including the recruitment and screening of school administrators through the Principal Search Committee.
- Ensure that all staff members are supported and provided with the necessary resources to contribute to the academic, spiritual, and overall success of their schools.
- Technology Integration:
- Ensure that schools are utilizing the latest technological tools to enhance teaching and learning.
- New Teacher and Principal Programs:
- Collaborate with Office of Catholic Schools personnel to organize and deliver content for New Administrator meetings
- Facilitate a formal mentoring program for new teachers in the Diocese.
- Conduct a formal principal formation program for teachers aspiring to Catholic school leadership.
- Other Duties:
- Form committees and conduct meetings/trainings as necessary, especially in the area of professional development, curriculum, ESE, Assistant Principals, New Administrators, and others as assigned or needed.
- Serve as an active board member on the Diocesan School Board.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Superintendent.

CATHOLIC FAITH

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Master’s Degree required, Doctorate’s Degree preferred in Education, or a related field.
- Experience in certification management, professional development, or accreditation processes in an educational setting.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of state and accreditation certification requirements and compliance standards.
- Certification in Educational Leadership.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS and ABILITIES
- A high level of organizational and interpersonal skill is required. Attention to detail and working well with others is also required.
- Ability to read and analyze routine correspondence and compose appropriate responses. Ability to respond effectively to common inquiries from internal and external sources. Ability to effectively present reports and information to constituents.
- Ability to apply appropriate mathematical concepts and operations in establishing and maintaining budgets.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The working hours of this position are not limited to an 8-hour day. This person will need to be available in the evening and weekends, as needed. Performs extensive computer work.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The ability to sit and stand for long periods of time. Must be able to reach, grasp, feel, and see up close and from afar. Must be able to use basic office computer hardware and peripherals, with or without reasonable accommodation. Must be able to communicate verbally and in written form. Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (15 pounds).
