POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Full-time technical position in the Caribou County or Bear Lake area which provisions subscriber internet and telephone services.  Primarily responsible to troubleshoot and professionally resolve higher level service and hardware issues directly with customers regarding landlines, DSL, fiber and cable internet.  Proactively monitors systems and contacts customers to offer assistance with possible service issues.  Maintains overall technological savvy with strong understanding of outdated, present, cutting-edge and perspective technologies and their applicability to the business.  Requires broad knowledge of organization policies, applicable hardware and software applications.  Provides secondary support for field technicians with installations and confirmations and other Plant Operation projects by phone and in the field.  Works closely with Customer Service Representatives and Plant Operations personnel.  Participates in “on call” rotation after hours.  Performs other administrative duties and projects as required by Regional Plant Manager.

 

SALARY: $20 - $22 per hour


SCHEDULE & QUALIFICATION EXPECTATIONS

  • 35 hours per week, with a schedule to be determined, typically Monday through Friday between 8 AM and 5 PM.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Computer-related field certifications preferred.
  • 3 years experience and/or training related to troubleshooting telecommunications and internet technology, systems and hardware.
  • 2 years experience working with copper, DSL and landline services, preferred.
  • Must have and maintain valid Driver’s License with good driving record.
  • Ability to pass drug screening at any time during employment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS HIGHLIGHTS (not an all inclusive list):

  • Climbing ladders
  • Lifting and carrying 35-50 lbs frequently, 50 lbs occasionally
  • Working outdoor in all weather conditions
  • Walking over uneven surfaces
  • Kneeling, stooping, bending, crawling, twisting
  • Reaching forward, grasping, push/pull, wrist twisting
  • Using computer, laptop, tablet and/or cell phone
  • Neck motion (L/R and Up/Down)
