Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) for tracking repairs, parts inventory, and service schedules.

Position Overview:
The Waste Management Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of a company fleet of garbage trucks, roll-off trucks, transfer station equipment, and other waste management assets. This role ensures all vehicles and equipment are properly maintained to maximize efficiency, reduce costs, and comply with safety and environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership: Manage, train, and develop a team of mechanics and technicians, ensuring high-performance standards.
Fleet Maintenance & Repair: Oversee the daily operations of vehicle and equipment maintenance, including scheduling repairs and preventive maintenance.
Compliance & Safety: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with OSHA, DOT, EPA, and company safety policies.
Budget & Cost Control: Manage the maintenance budget, control costs, and optimize parts inventory and vendor relationships.
Process Improvement: Implement best practices to increase fleet reliability, minimize downtime, and improve overall efficiency.
Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate service records, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide reports to senior management.
Emergency Response: Address unexpected breakdowns and emergency repairs to minimize service disruptions.
Work Environment & Schedule:
Typically works in a shop environment with exposure to mechanical hazards, noise, and outdoor conditions.
