Vice President Computational Data Science

$350k Base Equity Bonus.
Our client is a pioneering leader in the biotech and pharmaceutical industry, is seeking an exceptional and visionary leader to drive innovation in computational data sciences.
This high-impact role will oversee a dynamic team of top-tier researchers & data scientists spearheading the design, execution, and interpretation of high-dimensional data from cutting-edge platform technologies, including single-cell RNA sequencing, bulk RNA sequencing, TCR/BCR sequencing, and spatial transcriptomics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent the Data Sciences team in executive, cross-functional, and external scientific meetings, articulating the group's vision and impact to senior leadership, stakeholders, and industry partners.
- Lead, inspire, and strategically direct their molecular profiling Data Sciences team, setting both short-term and long-term objectives that align with the company’s broader vision.
- Drive the application of novel computational tools and methodologies, including genetic medicine and gene therapy, to revolutionize target discovery and drug development.
- Oversee research prioritization, ensuring seamless transition of targets through the pipeline from preclinical to clinical development, while making critical go/no-go decisions.
- Collaborate with Research IT to develop intuitive data interfaces, enabling scientists to effortlessly query vast RNAseq and multi-omics datasets for target identification and therapeutic development.
- Provide expert oversight on regulatory documents, scientific publications, partnerships, and strategic initiatives.
Required Skills/Experiences:
- PhD with at least 10 years of postdoctoral experience, minimum 8 years in an industry or translational setting.
- Renowned expert in computational biology, bioinformatics, and quantitative sciences with a track record of leadership in the biotech, pharma, or translational research space.
- Extensive experience with bioinformatic processing of CRISPR/Cas9 and genetic screening technologies.
- Expertise in gene therapy strategies, including promoter design and lead template selection for RNA-based and viral/non-viral delivery systems.
- Exposure to regulated drug development environments and translational research highly preferred.
