Wet Utilities Sales Representative:
Job Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Wet Utilities Sales Representative to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, with a focus on the water and sewer industries, specifically in the Private Development space. As a Sales Representative, you will be responsible for selling water and sewer services solutions, in both the private development, and municipal spaces. Your role will involve developing relationships with clients, understanding their needs, and delivering tailored solutions to help them meet their objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
· Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain long-term relationships with current and potential customers to ensure repeat business and referrals.
· Services Knowledge & Consultation: Provide expert guidance on water and sewer services such as water distribution, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, excavation and land clearing, concrete and asphalt work, directional boring, open cut, and emergency response and maintenance. In addition should be familiar with Civil QC testing to include, compaction testing, asphalt density testing, proctor sampling and analysis, and onsite inspection services.
· Product Knowledge: Stay up-to-date on the latest products, technologies, and solutions within the water utilities industry. Understand client needs and match them with appropriate solutions.
· Proposal Preparation: Create and present accurate, customized proposals based on customer needs and specifications, with input from our estimating team.
· Sales & Business Development: Identify and target new customers in the water and sewer industry, with emphasis on private developers, in addition to public municipalities, engineering firms, and contractors.
· Sales Presentations: Conduct product demonstrations and sales presentations to potential clients, showcasing the benefits and features of company services.
· Market Research & Reporting: Stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitor activities, and market demands. Provide regular sales reports and forecasts to management.
· Customer Support: Offer ongoing support to clients after the sale, addressing any issues and ensuring customer satisfaction.
· Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams (engineering, logistics, customer service) to ensure timely delivery and execution of projects
Qualifications:
· Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of sales experience, preferably in the water and/or sewer construction industry.
· Scalability: Past experience in revamping large-scale programs to meet customer needs.
· Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of water and sewer infrastructure, products, and services. Familiarity with private development and municipal procurement processes is a plus.
· Sales Skills: Proven track record in business development, relationship building, and meeting or exceeding sales targets.
· Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present technical information in an easy-to-understand manner.
· Problem-Solving: Ability to understand customer needs and provide effective, creative solutions.
· Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with relevant software (e.g., CRM tools, Microsoft Office Suite) and basic knowledge of CAD or estimating tools.
· Education: A degree in Business, Sales, Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
· Travel: 75% travel is the expectation within the region for client meetings and site visits.
Preferred Skills:
· Experience working with private development and municipal contractors or utilities.
· Experience in water distribution, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, and excavation, emergency response and maintenance, and land cleaning.
· Established relationships within the water and sewer industry.
· Understanding of regulations and standards related to water and sewer infrastructure.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
