Job brief
We are looking for an Accounting Supervisor to supervise, track and evaluate day-to-day activities. Accounting Supervisor responsibilities include establishing financial status by developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying and reporting information. This person will also work closely with our executive leadership team and our financial advisors.
Responsibilities
Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including :
month and end-year process
accounts payable / receivable
cash receipts
general ledger
budgets
cash flow analysis
revenue and expense variance analysis
capital assets reconciliations
check & credit card runs
monitor bank & debt activity
Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements for executive management team
Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles
Adhere to basic GAAP standards to insure financial stability of the organization
Coordinate and complete any necessary financial audits
Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy
Meet financial accounting objectives
Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions
Accounts Payable including all vendor ACH payments through bank and / or QuickBooks
Maintain company standards
Perform cutoff list tasks and credit limit holds
Mentor and oversee the AR and billing team for efficient collections procedures
Perform reconciliations and month-end close outs
Prepare and organize for year end tax closeouts including 1099s and other tax compliance documents for CPA
Requirements and skills
Proven working experience as Accounting Manager, Accounting Supervisor or Finance Manager
Advanced computer skills on MS Office, MS Excel, and databases
Highly proficient in QuickBooks Online
Ability to manipulate large amounts of data
Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
High attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to direct and supervise an accounting team
