We are hiring a for our dermatology practice in Vienna/Tyson’s Corner, Virginia. This is your opportunity to contribute your knowledge and positive energy to our growing practice! This job is ideal for an individual with dermatology medical assistant experience who is ready to add the next step of clinic management.
We are conveniently located in Vienna, VA, just off Leesburg Pike/Route 7 and Dulles Access Road/Route 267 and close to I-495. Our office is about one block from the Spring Hill Metro stop.
Duties include:
Primary role:
- Front desk, scheduling, insurance management, prior authorizations
- Clinic management including office flow, patch testing, staff schedule management, ordering of supplies
- Assisting with patient check-in and check-out process, including collection of payments
- Communicating pathology and other test results with patients and physicians
- Correspondence with physicians, scanning and routing correspondence and medical records, maintaining EMR, and other general clinical admin duties as assigned
- Generation and institution of ideas to grow our business and maintain current patients
Will also be able to perform medical assistant role at any time, and to ensure cross training, will work in medical assistant role for one day per week
- Rooming patients with a welcoming, cheerful and inclusive approach
- Completion of patient intake and vitals signs
- Assisting with patient visits and procedures, including photography
- Medical scribing and documentation in the electronic medical record
- Patch test preparation, application and counseling
- Assistance with post operative care including wound dressing and suture removal
- Patient counseling including post-surgical instructions, patch test instructions and general inquiries
- Preparation of consents and other literature for patients
- E-prescribing and follow up to ensure timely and accurate medication fulfillment
- Prepping, cleaning, and sanitizing of instruments and exam rooms/office and clinic bathroom; assistance with clinic laundry
Interacting with patients, staff, vendors and other healthcare workers with a positive mindset and team-based, supportive approach
Completion of all required trainings (HIPPA, OSHA, BLS, etc) in a timely fashion
Compliance with clinic policies and procedures
The employer retains the right to change or assign other duties to this position
Office hours are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, 8am-4pm. Employees will be expected to arrive 30-60 minutes prior to opening and leave 30-60 minutes after closing. Exact employee work hours will be determined prior to start date.
Required qualifications:
Certified medical assistant degree and/or associate’s degree and/or bachelor’s degree
Dermatology medical assistant experience
Experience with documentation in electronic medical record
Positive, can-do attitude
English language fluency
Ability to work in a fast-paced medical environment
Ability to work with computers and ipads for completion of job tasks
Desired qualifications:
Phlebotomy certification is desired
Physical Demands:
- The employee must be able to move and/or transport up to 30 pounds
- The employee must be able to maintain a stationary position for up to 45 minutes, for assistance with surgical procedures
- The employee must be able to move/traverse throughout the clinic, all day
- The employee must be able to operate and use medical equipment, medical instruments, medical supplies, and electronic/computer equipment (including typing)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $29.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 34 per week
