What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Specialist position at Diversified Construction & Design?
Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting talent acquisition efforts, such as collaborating with managers to understand skills and competencies required for job openings; recruiting.
- Analyzing trends in compensation and benefits; researching and proposing competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
- Crafting and posting Job Openings on appropriate job boards and social media platforms.
- Interviewing job applicants about their relevant experience, skills, and education.
- Informing applicants about job details, such as duties, benefits, and working conditions.
- Checking candidate’s professional references and verify employment.
- Creating Offer Letters and facilitating employment negotiations.
- Hiring and onboarding new employees.
- Performing or assisting with new-hire orientation.
- Documenting Job Descriptions, including pay range, duties and responsibilities, skills, experience and education and any other requirements for new positions.
- Maintaining “talent pools” of applicants with skills/experience Diversified Construction & Design is frequently looking to hire.
- Keeping employment records up to date and process paperwork in a timely manner in accordance with company and regulatory policies and procedures.
- Supporting the Training department with ensuring all employees maintain their certifications and training requirements.
- Guiding employees through human resources procedures and answer questions about the organization’s policies.
- As a backup (cross-trained member of the HR Department), processing payroll, administering benefits, and handling associated questions or issues.
As a member of the Human Resources Department, you can anticipate supporting the Human Resource Manager with company initiatives and department goals such as:
- Potentially participating in disciplinary discussions and investigation; may be required to administer tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations or investigating allegations of misconduct.
- Maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; continuously review policies and evaluate procedures and protocol to ensure compliance.
- Assisting in ongoing Performance Management and Employee Engagement processes to create a healthy and efficient work environment.
- Supporting marketing efforts such as social media, brochures, digital forums, promotional products, communications, etc.
- Assisting in the coordination and planning of company social and/or team-building events.
