JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Facilitate the development of APQP documentation including, but not limited to process FMEAs, control plans and process flow diagrams.
- Support and track recommended action from the process FMEAs.
- Independent scheduling and lead APQP readiness meetings with manufacturing engineering teams.
- Review and /or develop process capability studies and measurement systems analysis.
- Create final production part approval documentation (PPAP).
- Research and test the design, functionality and maintenance of products, equipment, systems and processes and develop quality standards.
- Review and approve sampling procedures and designs, forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
- Review and supervise programs to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities.
- Conduct training sessions on quality control activities.
- Considered a specialist in areas of quality control engineering, such as design, incoming material, process control, product evaluation, product reliability, inventory control, metrology, automated testing, software, research and development, and administrative application.
- Direct workers engaged in measuring and testing products and tabulating data concerning materials, product, or process quality and reliability.
- Plan and direct activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for industrial processes, materials, and products.
- Develop and initiate standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation, utilizing knowledge in engineering fields such as chemical, electrical, or mechanical.
- Manage quality control program.
- Attend weekly staff and prioritization meetings.
- Formal documentation and presentation at stakeholder updates.
- Facilitate and host cross functional meetings in person and virtual.
- Manage priorities across multiple projects.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering with 8 years of experience OR Master’s degree and 6 years of experience.
- 5 years’ experience within manufacturing - machining.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Ability to facilitate and create all APQP elements including Process Flow, Control Plan and Process Failure Modes and Effect Analysis (PFMEA).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and evaluate product integrity and standards.
- Excel, PowerPoint and Teams experience.
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, schematics and computer-generated reports.
- Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD).
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Prior automotive industry experience.
SOFT SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Team player and detail oriented.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.
