Technical Writer I
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Technical Writer to assist with creating documentation for a start-up site. The ideal candidate will have experience as a Technical Writer in the manufacturing industry, preferably with an associate degree in English, Communications, or a related field.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and write technical documentation, including process manuals, system specifications, and procedure manuals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information about documentation needs.
- Standardize content across platforms and media to ensure consistency and clarity.
- Review and edit existing documentation to verify completeness, accuracy, and compliance with standards.
- Work closely with project teams to understand product details and develop appropriate content.
- Convert complex technical terminologies into user-friendly language.
- Conduct periodic reviews and revisions of documents to ensure updates and changes are captured accurately.
Requirements:
- An associate degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, or a related field OR currently enrolled in one of these programs at an accredited college/university.
- Proven experience as a Technical Writer or similar role in a technical field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to understand and translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation.
- Proficient in using MS Office and other documentation tools.
- Strong attention to detail and superior organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Location:
The position will be 100% onsite at Delta College in Saginaw, MI: 1961 Delta Rd, University Center, MI 48710. When the Hemlock plant is completed, the position will move to 1881 N. Orr Rd, Hemlock, MI 48626.
Working Hours:
M-F, 8am - 5pm

Phone screen /teams meeting with hiring manager and then in person onsite interview with panel of team members.
