CONSTRUCTION SUPERINTENDENT – SILVERWOOD

Location: Hesperia, California

Reports To: Director of Construction, Michael Hughes

Job Description: The Superintendent coordinates and oversees construction projects from start to finish. The Superintendent reports directly to the Director of Construction.

Responsibilities – General:

• Act as 'Company Representative' and coordinate site construction activities, identify and manage all on-site trades and operations.
• Monitor project status in terms of time, quality and cost.
• Responsible for reviewing Owner’s Contractor contracts and managing the contract for the project.
• Responsible for planning and cost control of the project.
• Manage the schedule and production for the project.
• Produce the “project construction” deliverables to the schedules and expectations set forth by Owner and / or Owner representative(s).
• Monitor (and potentially oversee) Submittal documentation and tracking.
• Monitor (and potentially oversee) RFI (Request For Information) documentation and tracking.
• Lead construction meetings/meeting minutes.
• Monitor all SWPPPs (Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan) for the project.
• Ensure staffing levels are in accordance with workforce plans.
• Supervise contract administration (i.e. authorization of change order work) and coordinate with representatives.
• Scope change management (site instructions, variations, etc.).
• Provide feedback/input during the construction process to Owner / Owner representative.
• Integrate activities of contractors, consultants, and senior management; Coordinate with appropriate representatives.
• Identify technical and functional problems and coordinate resolution as appropriate.
• Review and approve/decline progress billings via verification of quantities.
• Oversee close-out activities of the construction site.
• Contribute to packaging the close out documentation of project and furnish to Owner/Owner representative.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• 5 years’ experience in the construction industry.
• Superintendent | Foreman experience (preferred).
• Familiar with reading construction plans.
• Experience with construction management | project management and scheduling.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
• Excellent written, verbal and organizational skills with prompt follow-up.
