What are the responsibilities and job description for the Workforce Development Assistant position at DMI Companies?
OVERVIEW
This position supports the administration and expansion of DMI Corporate Operations Workforce Development programs across all DMI manufacturing facilities for the purpose of attracting, developing, advancing and retaining the workforce needed to remain a leader in our industry and an Employer of Choice. The incumbent will assist in supporting and documenting new and existing recruiting and training initiatives.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES
- Maintain secure and accurate Workforce Development documents and reports inc. Applicant Tracking System, Applicant Pro, Employee Needs, Vacancy Request Forms, Termination Reports and more.
- Review applications, answer inquiries, conduct phone screens and schedule interviews.
- Maintain Training Tracker/app and employee training files. Conduct follow-up and verification of training and documentation completion/submission.
- Maintain MFG Day and other event files, document registrations/attendance, photo releases, pull contact info for interested students and contact, when appropriate.
- Conduct recruiting outreach, attend career fairs/recruiting events and facilitate onsite events/tours, as directed.
- Audit and maintain documentation for New Hire Orientation, New Hire Training Plans and New Hire Survey results.
- Assist with grant and program research, documentation and reporting
- Coordinate with Operations Assistants at each location to ensure seamless, coordinated candidate experience and record-keeping
- Communicate effectively with other departments to facilitate cooperation and coordination
- Work closely with the Workforce Development Manager, Human Resources, hiring teams and employees from all locations to ensure a positive, professional and compliant candidate and employee experience
- Coordinate with Operations Assistants at all locations to ensure Workforce Development programs, initiatives, documentation and events are communicated effectively, maintained accurately and securely and operated efficiently and according to DMI Workforce Development standards
- General clerical duties
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience in customer service, recruiting, relationship-building preferred.
- Highly accurate and attentive to detail.
- Ability to interact productively with a variety of audiences.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Skilled at managing time and effectively prioritizing a wide variety of assignments.
- Demonstrate professionalism, good attendance, and strong work ethic.
- Strong skills Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams.
- Requires a valid driver's license.
- Proactive and adept at using good judgment to solve problems.
