What are the responsibilities and job description for the Property Coordinator position at DMR-Southeast Region?
The Department of Developmental Services, Southeast Residential Services (SRS) is searching for a compassionate, enthusiastic professional with excellent organizational and management skills to become part of the management team in a busy and rewarding environment who will also assist in the completion of hands-on property management jobs/tasks as outlined below:
Job Responsibilities: (The duties and responsibilities stated are general summary and not all inclusive.)
- Ensures all operational needs are in compliance with safety and licensing standards.
- Communicates regularly with the Housing Authorities, The Department of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM), The Massachusetts Housing Finance Agency (MHFA), and individual owners/landlords of privately owned property.
- Provides oversight of capital repair projects, and private maintenance contracts.
- Responsible to evaluate all property for repair that is not included in the contracts.
- Assist with property maintenance jobs, including, but not limited to light carpentry, light plumbing, and/or light electrical jobs as assigned.
- Lifting as required.
- General knowledge of heating/cooling systems
- Obtains approval for identified projects, writing the specifications, soliciting bids, secures estimates for the projects.
- Provides immediate evaluation of emergency and non-emergency situations and coordinates the repair of all damages due to seasonal storms.
- Direct supervision of four (4) maintenance staff.
- Coordinate and work with contracted vendors during capitol repairs and other awarded jobs.
SCHEDULE:
Full-time – 40-hour weekly position.
Schedule Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Days off – Saturday and Sunday
Flexibility with schedule required
Travel is required
