Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the procurement process, ensuring that materials and supplies are sourced effectively to meet the operational needs of the organization. This position requires strong organizational skills, an understanding of supply chain management, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments.
Duties
- Assist the Senior Purchasing Agent in processing customer’s purchase orders
- Sending acknowledgments to customer
- Ensure the proper sourcing and purchasing of the raw materials needed for orders
- Communicate with sales team about any issues or clarification regarding purchase orders
- Work with the inventory team and maintain communication to ensure that stock levels are maintained to ensure stock levels are maintained at optimal levels
- Build and maintain a strong relationship with our suppliers, fostering a collaborative and mutually beneficial partnership
- Collaborate with other team members, such as production, logistics and customer service to ensure that the procurement process aligns with the organization’s goal and adheres to our standards
- Ensures that purchasing documents are complete and accurate and include appropriate and reasonable terms and conditions.
- Maintains pricing histories and other vendor records.
- Requests cost proposals and negotiating contracts and prices.
- Answering phone
- Notify supervisor of any mechanical or material issues.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
Qualifications
- Proven experience or coursework in sourcing, logistics, or supply chain management is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for effective materials management.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with suppliers and internal teams.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
