What are the responsibilities and job description for the Industrial Instructor III - Water System Plant Operator - Bridgewater position at DOC-Central Facility Account?
Duties:
Supervises all day-to-day functions and operations of the MASAC Plymouth treatment and distribution system and the MCI Bridgewater Complex booster station and distribution system. Oversees and is responsible for all monitoring, testing, treating, recordkeeping, and maintenance of the systems equipment. Responsible for the supervision of all personnel assigned to the treatment and distribution systems. Responsible for the treatment and distribution of drinking water to the MASAC Plymouth and MCI Bridgewater complexes. Conducts testing for water quality in accordance with all laws and regulations associated with the MA DEP and Clean Water Act. Oversees daily operation and maintenance of pumping stations, wells, water mains, water services, valves, hydrants, and meters. Must be available to respond within 1 hour to emergencies 24 hours a day/7 day a week. As the Primary Operator of the water systems, you are responsible for the safe and proper operation as governed by MA DEP Drinking Water Regulations 310 CMR 22.00. Performs other duties as assigned.

OSHA RESPIRATOR MEDICAL EVALUATION AND BACKGROUND

Preferred Qualifications:
Possess a high school diploma. A strong working knowledge of MA DEP Drinking Water Regulation, 310 CMR 22.00. MA Driver’s license. A minimum of one year water operations and maintenance experience. Supervisory experience.
Comments:
This is a Civil Service position. Candidate must take and pass the next Civil Service Examination for this title and score must be reached in order to be considered for a permanent appointment. Please note that salaries for union positions are determined according to the provisions of the respective collective bargaining agreement. Applicants must have no felony convictions, to include any actions defined in 5 U.S.C. 301; U.S.C. 509, 510; 42 U.S.C. 15601-15609. I. A Bachelor's or higher degree with a major in industrial arts may be substituted for one year of the required (A) experience.*
