Medical Receptionist
Busy Medical Practice is looking for a friendly, detail-oriented person with experience working with people. The successful candidate will be NICE, self-starting and enjoy attending to the finer details of working in a medical environment. Some experience is preferable, but we are willing to train the right person. If interested, please send us your resume.
Duties:
- Answer phones and either direct the calls to the appropriate party or handle the caller’s needs yourself
- Greet patients upon arrival, sign them in and obtain insurance information and any other necessary data
- Provide patients with intake and new patient forms as well as copies of our office policies and legally required documents
- Process payments from patients for co-pays and uninsured visits
- Prepare/close billing claims for our medical biller and track recalls
- Schedule appointments for new and recurring patients
- Maintain hard copy patient records as well as the files stored in our EHR
- Call patients to remind them of upcoming appointments
- Provide patients with support and guidance as needed
- Perform all duties within HIPAA regulations
- Maintain confidentiality of all doctor, staff, and patient information
- Adhere to policy and procedures during all activities
Requirements:
- High school diploma/GED required
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks based on importance
- Experience with computers
