Kennel Attendant Supervisor
Even though the main part of a Kennel Attendant’s duties is to ensure the well being of all the dogs at Dog Den, the other half will focus on the promotion and operations of Dog Den. As we are a small knit team of dog lovers, we wear many hats to make sure all dogs get the attention they need while making Dog Den the best it can be!
This position is for someone who not only wants to work with dogs but want to participate in all parts of the business. We are quickly growing and will promote and grow our employees from within.
Roles & Responsibilities include, but not excluded to:
- Supervising and manageing daily tasks of kennel attendants.
- Manage kennel attedant schedules and cover shifts as needed.
- Conduct interviews for hiring potential kennel attedants.
- Training kennel attedant according to Dog Den's operting procedures.
- Keeping the dogs engaged and active… Playtime!
- Checking in and out dogs for day care, boarding, and grooming.
- Monitoring all dogs throughout the day.
- Assisting customers via phone, email and in-person.
- Cleaning dog kennels, cages, and play areas, making sure the areas are free from trash, dog urine, and feces at all times.
- Cleaning before store opens and after store closes.
- Feeding dogs as scheduled and done properly with medication as needed.
- Setting up grooming appointments and coordinating it with the groomer.
- Do baths, gland expression, nail trimming/grinding, and ear cleaning.
- Keeping the customer updated on their pets throughout the day by taking photographs and posting on our social media.
- Promoting Dog Den in outdoor settings such as the dog park, pet fairs, and other pet related events.
- Create marketing campaign such as email, social media and others.
Requirements
- Must have at least 3 years of experience handling dogs.
- Must have at least 1 year of experience leading a team.
- Must be abele to work some weekday mornings.
- Must live within 10 miles to work.
- Must have great customer service skills.
- Enthusiastic and comfortable working with dogs!
- Have owned, trained, or worked with dogs.
- Self-starter and team player.
- Great phone and email etiquette.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $19.50 per hour
