Fleet Procurement Manager
Our ideal candidate is focused, organized and has a deep understanding of the trucking industry. As Fleet Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for all major transportation vendor partnerships, including local market vendor engagement and national brand corporate engagement with top manufacturers such as Volvo, Peterbilt and Freightliner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and coordinate all fleet purchasing and oversight.
- Assist in strategic planning, budgeting and ensuring the efficient and cost-effective use of trucks, trailers and other fleet equipment.
- Partner with all Dot locations to ensure new and existing equipment follows local, state and federal regulations.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers and vendor partners.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts while applying lean thinking and tools to eliminate waste.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent Dot Foods' experience.
- Experience with vendor engagement and negotiation.
- Transportation experience of industry assets, truck and trailers.
- Clear written verbal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of local state and federal regulation for the Department of Transportation.
- Ability to engage with all levels of the organization.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in sales and negotiations.
- Budgeting/expense management experience.
Role Specifications:
- Travel: 3-4 days per month to vendors, distribution centers or industry events.
