    Douglas ESD is accepting applications for the position of Special Services Grant Coordinator - Oregon Technology Access Program (OTAP) / Regional & Statewide Services for Students with Orthopedic Impairments (RSOI). This position works 220 days per year, 5 days per week, 8 hours per day, to begin July 14th, 2025.

    STARTING SALARY $81,896 - $88,649 per year (Placement is dependent on relevant verifiable experience)

    JOB SUMMARY
    The Special Services Grant Coordinator leads and manages statewide services that support students with disabilities, specifically those requiring assistive technology or experiencing orthopedic impairments, in accordance with the OTAP and RSOI grants requirements. This role involves coordinating training, resources, and consultation services for educators, families, and school districts to enhance student access to education and promote inclusive learning environments and is responsible for managing the budget for these programs. The coordinator collaborates with local, regional, and state partners to ensure service delivery aligns with best practices and meets the diverse needs of students.

    • Serves Oregon school districts and ESDs as a knowledgeable resource regarding state and federal laws, regulations and best professional practice for matters relating to education of students with Orthopedic Impairments and students needing Assistive Technology.
    • Oversee the development of and implementation of assistive technology support and services for students with disabilities.
    • Provide leadership for the planning and delivery of professional development for educators and specialists.
    • Manage program operations, including budgeting, reporting, and compliance with state and federal requirements.
    • Advocate for the needs of students with orthopedic impairments and ensure equitable access to educational opportunities.
    • Coordinate with statewide initiatives, including the delivery of technical assistance and direct support to school districts.
    • Design and deliver training programs for educators, specialists, and families on assistive technology and best practices for support students with orthopedic impairments.
    • Organize statewide conferences, workshops, and webinars to disseminate relevant information and innovative strategies.
    • Maintain and update educational resources and online learning platforms.
    • Manage and expand lending libraries for assistive technology devices and other relevant resources.
    • Provide and maintain a website about services, materials, and coming events.
    • Implement and maintain a database for tracking consultation and technical assistance requests that will determine training and technical assistance needs throughout the state and track service provision.
    • Act as a liaison between educational teams and community health professionals, hospitals and the occupational and physical therapy licensing boards.
    • Manages and authorizes expenditures for a significant ($300,000 ) portion of the budget.
    • Develop new projects and write new grants as need and opportunity arise.
    • Plans, directs, and evaluates services to school districts or other customers/clients.
    • Maintains regular communications with school districts regarding program services, local and regional issues, and state and national issues and resources.
    • Assists the Oregon Department of Education and other state agencies in providing information and resources to school districts.
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel to and from school locations in the Douglas ESD service area and may be required to travel on overnight assignments.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS
    • Current knowledge of and significant experience in the area of Special Education and Occupational and/or Physical Therapy/Assistive Technology.
    • Strong project management, communication, and leadership skills.
    • Knowledge of state and federal special education regulations and best practices.
    • Expert demonstration and knowledge in several areas of the position.
