Seeking a Network Operations Center Technician (NOC Technician) for an opportunity in Clemson, SC. This is a night shift position.

Work arrangement:

  • Fully onsite.
  • W2 position; 12 months, with possibility for extension
  • Hours: 6 PM – 6 AM (includes weekends and holidays); 42 hrs./week

Position description:

  • The NOC Technician monitors, tests, maintains and repairs network and infrastructure elements for the client’s Computing and Information Technology center.
  • Monitors network, server, and application elements, resolves incidents and service requests and/or consults with the subject matter expert team for incident resolution. Applies state-of-the-art technology to meet and improve the network control center.
  • Control network and system processing. Responds to customer inquiries and alerts via emails, incoming calls, and walk-ins. Conducts routine inspections on equipment and reports any abnormalities. Other operational duties as assigned such as meetings, project work, administration and facilities requirements.
  • Configure network and system resources, and maintain corresponding system records and documentation. Provides Tier II support as per SME agreements. Performs periodic maintenance and monitoring of computer systems. Performs pre-configured port activations on network switches. Assist with implementing network automation tools.
  • Prepares and reviews documentation for use in operations for training and knowledge base. Participates in training and cross training for the Tier II. Provides customer service for all information and/or telecommunication network systems support areas.

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Monitoring tools (Splunk, SolarWinds, Cisco ISE, Cisco Catalyst)
  • Python scripting
  • Routing protocols (i.e., BGP, OSPF)
  • Palo Alto firewall configuration
  • Cisco wireless troubleshooting
  • Cisco Meraki configuration
  • DNS configuration
  • IP network troubleshooting
  • Linux server batch scripting
  • Technical writing experience

  • Web programming

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $30.00 - $33.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • Night shift
  • Weekends as needed
