Lumber Associate

Job Title: Lumber Yard Associate

Duties:

• Assists customers with questions, identifies and directs customers to lumber and building materials. Prepares quotes of merchandise
• Provides information to customers about product usage, availability and application
• Answers store telephone to answer customer questions about product availability and quote prices
• Assists Customer in loading purchased materials safely and accurately into customer’s vehicle. Verifies load ticket to customer sales receipt to ensure accuracy of purchased materials. Follows established loading procedures as listed in the Standard Operating Procedures
• Unloads receipts of merchandise. Moves merchandise and supplies from receiving area to yard
• Puts up merchandise signs or labels
• Daily maintain merchandise by stocking, facing, straightening, rotating and cleaning or any other task necessary to maintain appearance and salability. Makes sure merchandise displays are safe and orderly.
• Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the yard by keeping ground free of clutter including bands, strapping and trash.
• Cover exposed merchandise when required, to prevent weather damage.
• Operate forklift safely and effectively to load, unload, and move merchandise in the yard.
• Perform routine safety checks on forklifts according to company guidelines
• Job requires bending, standing, and ability to lift 80 lbs.
• Job includes weekend hours with variable weather conditions'
