Job Summary
The Revenue Cycle Billing Manager will be responsible for overseeing the full revenue cycle process, ensuring timely and accurate billing, coding, and collections. This role requires someone with a strong background in revenue cycle management, a deep understanding of payer relationships, and a focus on improving billing efficiency and reducing accounts receivable. Key Responsibilities
Billing and Collections Management
Oversee and manage the complete billing and collections process, ensuring accurate and timely submission of claims.
Ensure compliance with payer-specific billing requirements and regulations, including those for Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance carriers.
Investigate and resolve billing issues, including denied claims, underpayments, and appeals.
Maintain and track accounts receivable, reducing aging accounts and improving cash flow.
Team Leadership and Development
Lead, mentor, and manage the billing department team, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures.
Provide training and professional development opportunities for team members to improve skills and performance.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and encourage a collaborative, high-performance culture within the team.
Revenue Cycle Optimization
Evaluate and streamline the revenue cycle process to enhance billing workflows, reduce errors, and ensure operational efficiency.
Collaborate with coding, finance, and operations departments to continuously improve the overall revenue cycle.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess billing, collection performance, and departmental efficiency.
Compliance and Reporting

Prepare and present detailed reports on revenue cycle performance to senior management, offering insights and recommendations for process improvements.
Conduct internal audits to identify and resolve discrepancies in billing and collections.
Collaboration and Communication
Serve as the primary point of contact for billing inquiries from internal teams and external clients.
Collaborate closely with other departments (e.g., coding, operations, finance) to ensure smooth integration of billing processes.
Maintain positive relationships with insurance carriers, payers, and external stakeholders to address any billing issues and ensure proper reimbursement.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Finance, Business, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in revenue cycle management or billing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
Comprehensive understanding of billing systems, healthcare insurance processes, and payer requirements.
Expertise in revenue cycle management concepts such as coding, billing, collections, and accounts receivable management.
Proficiency with healthcare software and electronic billing systems (e.g., EPIC, Cerner, etc.).
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to lead teams effectively and collaborate across departments.
