What are the responsibilities and job description for the Heavy Civil QA/QC Inspector position at Dragados USA, Inc.?
Essential Functions
- Perform on-site audits and inspection of construction work, materials, and process to ensure compliance with the Contract requirements and standard specifications, by visual inspections, dimensional checks, and materials testing.
- Perform source inspection per the approved Source Inspection Quality Management Plans to verify material manufacturer’s, materials, equipment, and processes prior to material deliveries on construction site.
- Review and management of QA verification testing results, reports, logs, and other data that QA collects and confirms for project compliance and certification.
- Detect discrepancies or deviations in construction and quality processes and provide feedback and recommendations for correction.
- Writing comprehensive and detailed inspection and audit reports.
- Provide input on quality assurance and quality control procedures and assist in developing strategies on improving project quality management.
- Reviews processes, practices, and procedures and identify possible areas for change to improve the quality of the resulting work. Reviews QA/QC documentation to ensure the adequacy of systems and performs project testing (requirements, procedures, and documentation) quarterly.
- Accomplishes quality and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
- Must be able to comprehensively read Construction Plans in the knowledge area.
- Knowledge of quality inspection standards, procedures, and applicable codes.
- The ability to freely access all points of the construction site in wide-ranging climates and environments.
- Skill in the use of Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Ability to effectively communicate with coworkers.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, high volume work environment.
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and on-call as needed.
- Ability to manage and complete multiple tasks at a given timeframe.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering field or Construction Management.
- ICC certifications and 3-5 years of experience in Reinforcing Concrete, Soils, etc.
- 3-5 Years related experience in Construction and Road/Bridge inspections
- Holds technical certifications for various construction related inspections and/or quality assurance.
- 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated in Heavy Civil Construction.
