We are currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing essential support for financial reporting to federal and accrediting agencies. This role is crucial for the effective management of our financial operations and will involve working closely with Financial Aid and our Executive team to achieve our organization's financial goals.
Duties
- Perform account analysis and reconcile balance sheets to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
- Prepare and post journal entries to maintain up-to-date financial records.
- Bi-monthly payroll management and tax form filing.
- Create Student Invoices and record payments. Manage student financial ledgers and financial aid disbursements.
- Accounts payable and receivable.
- Conduct general ledger accounting and perform general ledger reconciliation to ensure all transactions are properly recorded.
- Assist in budgeting processes by providing necessary data and insights for financial planning.
- Support governmental accounting requirements as needed, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
- Collaborate with public accounting teams during audits and provide necessary documentation.
- Maintain organized financial records and documentation for easy retrieval and review.
- Monitor debits and credits to ensure proper account balances are maintained.
- Providing liaison with independent auditors.
- Submit monthly sales tax filings, reports, and annual forms.
Skills
- Strong understanding of account analysis and balance sheet reconciliation techniques.
- Proficiency in governmental accounting practices is a plus.
- Experience with journal entries, budgeting, and general ledger reconciliation is essential.
- Familiarity with public accounting standards and financial aid reporting is advantageous.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating strong communication skills.
- Well skilled in Quickbooks and Google Workspace.
- Familiarity with Populi, or other SIS or LMS a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
