What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vacuum Truck Operator position at Drost Landscape?
To fill this role, we are looking for a driven and skilled individual that will be responsible for operating our vacuum truck to safely and efficiently remove, transport, and dispose of liquid, sludge, and solid waste materials. This role requires attention to safety, compliance with regulations, and the ability to work in various environmental conditions. Applicants must be able to handle the physical demands of the job, working long hours outdoors, as well as adapting easily to schedule changes. On-the-job training is provided, as well as incentives for certifications and past experience.
Essential Functions:
- Operate and maintain vacuum trucks and related equipment.
- Perform pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure equipment is in good working condition.
- Follow safety protocols and comply with DOT, OSHA, and environmental regulations.
- Accurately complete paperwork, including manifests, logs, and work orders.
- Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment as needed.
- Work in various weather conditions and job sites, including industrial, municipal, and construction environments.
- Ability to utilize electronic device(s) for job notes, time tracking, etc.
Qualifications:
- Valid CDL A/B license with tanker endorsement, preferred.
- Previous experience operating a vacuum truck or similar equipment, preferred.
- Ability to lift and maneuver hoses and other equipment (up to 50 lbs).
- Strong knowledge of safety procedures and environmental regulations.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
